My neighbor across the street and I both have Sundance spas for many years now. In the course of normal entropy of various spa systems through the years, we have seen every spa repair guy in the Verde Valley. I’m the type of person that would rather dig into the problem myself rather than under go the painful and expensive process of calling in the pros.
My most recent issue is that my control circuit board was not lighting up and I was really afraid it was going to be a new board through the local Sundance distributor. I just knew how expensive that was going to be, most especially their billing rate. Ouch!
I started digging into the issue and it was my main circuit breaker at the box that kept tripping and finally failed completely. Warren was working across the street so I asked him if he had a 50 Amp breaker on the truck. Sure enough he had it. I was just going to take the breaker and put it in myself. Warren said he would come over and take a look at the situation. I got the breaker in and the spa lit up so it wasn’t the board. Thank God.
Warren then took a look at the GFCI wiring by the spa, which was done by an idiot: Me. He told me what to bypass and what to take to Ground. Once that was fixed and grounded properly the circuit breaker kept tripping. So I went across the street and asked Warren if maybe it was the used breaker he had given me. So he dug around the truck and came up with the top of the line Square D breaker. I got that one in and still tripping. Warren then took a look at the board and it took him about two minutes, that’s right 2, to diagnose it was the air bubbler pump that was shorting out. Warren just operated out of experience and intuition; no head scratching required. He just disconnected that and the spa lit up and was running perfectly.
Warren is just a great guy, a seasoned professional and odds are he has the part on his truck. No multiple trips back to the shop and “yeah I can come back next week”. Direct quote from John across the street ” this spa has never run this good since I got it”.
WARREN IS THE BEST!!!! We called him for a spa that belongs to our landlords and he worked SO HARD to get the system up and running – he took the motherboard home and worked on it, got us a deal on refurbished parts, crawled in rattlesnake alley under our deck in 100 degree heat, and charged us very little for an amazingly hard, dirty, inconvenient job. Oh, and in addition, he’s a guy you want to take out for a beer – super easy to talk to and trusted in our home. He clearly loves his job and we call him the Spa Whisperer – he knows everything about spas!! Such a great change from larger stores who hire people to sell items but have no experience with the actual systems. You are nuts if you use anyone else to purchase, install, or maintain your systems!!!
Very professional went out of his way to fix my spa tub even though he usually doesn’t fix spa bathtubs he built the box and changed it from a circuit box to buttons to push on and off air & water jets instead of the circuit board which was $200-$400 he made it so I won’t have to worry about circuit boards.
Likely the easiest and most effective repair job I’ve ever had done.
